Joseph (Joey) Conrad Wawia
It is with sorrow the family would like to announce the passing of our beloved son, brother and uncle, Joseph (Joey) Wawia on Monday, December 3rd in Sudbury at the age of 37.
Beloved son of Nancy J Wawia and Dennis T Wawia (pre-deceased). Loving brother to Nancy (Mike), Ted (Marie), Sophia (Derrick pre-deceased) and Dennis (Jenn). Much loved uncle and storyteller to Dalton, Zack, Kristian, Dennis James, Robert, Sam, Santana, Braeden, Wesley and Sage. Because every family is unique - just like Joey, he will also be greatly missed by his mom Debbie Wawia and his brothers Christopher, Cody and Jonathan.
The family will receive family and friends on Saturday, December 8th from 2:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street in Sudbury followed by a service in the R. J. Barnard Chapel at 5:00 P.M.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Reseau ACCESS Network (ACCESS AIDS) in Joey's name would be appreciated by the family.
For those unable to attend the service in person, it will be available to view at

Joey saw that I worked for shelter house and he used to tell his worker to call his cousin in thunder bay. They would call me and give Joe the phone and we had some great conversations about memories and current things that were going on in his life. He wanted to come to our program in thunder bay because we had a residential portion and he thought that was better than the program he was attending in Sudbury. We talked about what that might look like because we always encourage people to stay where they have support and I know he had much more support where he was and family. I enjoyed our conversations and I told him he could always call me to chat and he did. I'm gonna miss those times as they were when I least expected it and usually lasted a good 30 minutes. Joey, I hope you are at peace. I hope you are with your Dad and all the pain you had here is gone. Love you bud ♥️♥️
