Clifford Thomas Buchanan
Clifford Thomas Buchanan – April 12, 1929 to April 15, 2014. Cliff, born in North Bay, Ontario, is the son of Dolly Sophie McCoy Edwards and Thomas Sersen Buchanan (both predeceased). He was the beloved husband of Helen Elizabeth Monaghan (predeceased 1995). Cliff is survived by his daughters, Patricia (Paddy) Buchanan and Bonny Chapman (Claude), four grand children, Christopher Chapman, Sarah Adkins (Matthew), James Chapman (Catrina) and David Buchanan (Stephanie Goyert) and five great grand children, Carson and Payton Chapman and Maxwell, Grace and Scarlet Adkins. Cliff is also survived by his special Aunt Lois Douglas and partner Alice Steadman of Ingersol. Cliff retired from INCO in 1984 and during his retirement he was an active member of the Pensioners Curling Club and a dedicated volunteer at the CNIB. Cliff was a long serving member of St. Peter’s United Church. He loved sports of every nature and was a loyal Leafs and Argos fan. He loved music and was an exceptional card player. Cliff was out going, friendly and always positive. He loved his family fiercely and was loved back as much. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2014 and a service to celebrate Cliff’s life will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014. Both the visitation and service will be held at St. Peter’s United Church, 203 York Street. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Peter’s United Church Memorial Fund or Health Sciences North Foundation are appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
