Obituary for
John James Hancock
John James Hancock
April 3, 1948 – July 12, 2016
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of John James Hancock on Tuesday, July 12th, 2016 at the age of 68 years. Son of Roy and Agnes (Cerantala) Hancock of Sudbury both predeceased. Beloved husband of Heather (Murray) Hancock. Loving father of Ryan (wife Harmony) of Lively and Tyler of Calgary. Forever missed by grandsons Cole, Paul and Samuel. Cherished brother of Eleanor (husband Fred) Grottoli of Sudbury and Ron (wife Jackie) of Sault Ste. Marie. John was a firefighter with the City of Sudbury for 35 years. He retired in 2004. He and Heather shared a passion for boating and for cruising the country on their motorbike. John especially loved their camp in Red Deer Village on the North Channel. He was born and raised in Gatchell and was able to pass the last 7 winters in Florida. John had a quick wit and loved making people laugh. His philosophy was: “Never confuse a Long Life with an Interesting Life.”
