Condolence: Condolences to the Vernon family . Great memories of Dan . I first met him in 1996 when he got bumped down to Canpa on the Oakville Sub . He , myself and John Lamont essentially lived at the Canpa tower . Best SDU ever . He was quickwitted and one of the smartest people I ever met . Very loyal to his friends .

Condolence: My brother Brian, has 2 sisters but no brother. I would tell Brian that Dan was his brother by a different mother & Brian agreed. Over the years and despite various job related moves they always kept in touch. The loss of Dan is especially sad due to his young age but also because he was such a vibrant character. He was one of the smartest people I have ever met & one of the funniest. He was a master story teller. As Dan's loss to his family is unmeasurable so was Dan's love for them. I hope they find comfort in that. We will miss you Dan. Rest in peace

Condolence From: Steve Vernon
Condolence: The sun has been blown out like a candle. Somebody has dynamited a city-sized chunk out of the rocky hills surrounding Capreol. A tree has fallen, the forest has died and the thunder has forgotten how to roll. My brother Dan has left the life and I can hear him laughing on the other side of forever. More than a brother, he was somebody I counted on. The world is a poorer place and I am a poorer man without his constant strength.

Goddam, I miss him.
