Obituary for
Helen Veronica Soroko (Mislinski)
In Loving Memory
of
Helen Soroko
(nee Mislinski)
89 years
Peacefully, Saturday, July 30th, 2016 at Health Sciences North, with loving family at her side.
Beloved wife of Walter Soroko predeceased 2004. Loving mother of Walter Jr (wife Yvonne), Melanie Pleasance, and David (wife Sherry). Cherished grandmother of Lindsay (Jordan), Stacy (Mark), Samantha (Jon), Mandy, and Kelly and great grandchildren McKinley, Eli, and Blake. Dear daughter of Charles and Albina Mislinski predeceased. Dear sister of Walter, Joe, Stella (Steve), Elsie (Jim), Jenny (Galdino), and Sylvia (Mike) all predeceased. Special sister in law of Stan (Noreen) both predeceased. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Helen will be remembered as a woman who lived on her own terms, overcoming life’s challenges with her positive attitude and her wonderful sense of humour. A devout Roman Catholic, she lived Christ’s command to love God and love your neighbour on a daily basis. She was the well-loved and admired matriarch of her family. The light of her life will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
The family wishes to thank the ER nurses, Dr. Sung, and Dr. Addison for their wonderful care of Helen. And, finally, a huge thank you to her “other family”, the staff and residents of St. Joseph’s Villa. We will always be grateful.
