Obituary for
Ed Marion
In loving memory of Edmond “Eddie” Marion (1949-2016) who quietly passed into the loving arms of his beloved mother early morning on Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 at St. Gabriel Villa. Predeceased by his father Jean, his mother Elizabeth and his brother Joe, Ed is survived by his brother Ernie, four nieces and many friends. Sudbury was Ed's lifelong home and Christ the King Church was his spiritual home. As an active member of the Catholic Youth Organization Ed made many friends who today remember him as a fun-loving and strong character - "a lovable curmudgeon who knew his mind and let everyone know". His eccentricity was endearing and frustrating at the same time and identified Ed as a truly unique friend and individual. Ed loved music, particularly Gregorian chant, photography, especially of the outdoors, cooking, especially stuffed pork tenderloin, children, their freedom and zest for life, needlepoint, which graced his home, and painted Easter eggs. He loved the outdoors and for several years nurtured a backyard fishpond and row upon row of spring flowers until they were discovered by raccoons and rabbits. Not to be outdone, Ed turned his creativity indoors, festooning his house with seasonal handmade decorations much to his mother's delight. He loved parties which always ended with a game of scrabble of which he was the undisputed winner, every time. In recent years as life's adversities compounded, his memories of family, friends, Killarney, Bell Grove.... sustained him and his Faith nurtured him. May he rest in the peace of eternal life. A memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 28th, 2016 at 1:30pm in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street., Sudbury. Friends may gather after 1:00pm on Thursday. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with burial along side his parents in the Park Lawn Cemetery. Donations to the Blue Door Café would be appreciated.
