Lori I have been dreading this ever since I had the pleasure of meeting your beautiful daughter at the Hospice...
My husband's diagnosis was short and very new when we met Kandis, I remember when he met her it was the first time I saw his tears when I wheeled him back to his room "how can I feel sorry for myself at 59 when this beautiful, courageous girl is just 31".. Her battle and bravery was truly an inspiration to all of us and so was meeting you for our coffee chats..

I visited you many years ago, in the happy time of your youth, when you and your siblings were living with your beloved parent, and no one thought of sorrows to come. You might remember that visit - I brought my 20 month son Marty, and was with Grandma Lucille Wikman and Anna Wikman.

I am deeply sorry to hear of the loss of your beautiful daughter. I can see from the messages that she was a remarkable young woman. We always grieve the death of the important and loved people in our lives, but perhaps never more so than when we lose a child. I have lived a year now without my youngest son Matthew (who also died of cancer), and from one grieving mother to another, this is indeed a sorrow difficult to bear. I wish you strength to carry on and may you find love and joy in your memories, and through your friends and family. My sincere sympathy to you and all your family.

Condolence: Kandis is one of those people you wish you had known longer ,she had a flair for story telling .
Although her nursing career was short ,she certainly was cut out to be an awesome nurse .

Her uncanny love for everyone, spirit and overall attitude have remained in the forefront of my mind. Although my interactions with Kandis were short i have thought of her often.
