Obituary for Jacqueline Dolores Faddis (Perry)

Jacqueline “Jackie” Delores Faddis (nee Perry)
October 26, 1928 - May 11, 2023

A life well lived.

Jackie was a Sudburian all of her life. She was happy and content to find her life partner, Tom (predeceased) and to raise a family of five children - Karen, Tom (wife Margit, Shawna and Kyle), Bruce (predeceased), Neil (predeceased) and Tracey (David Greenspoon). She proudly represented the last in her generation of Perrys.

A supportive and dedicated mother, she was happy when others identified with her kindness, caring, and good will and in her later years she became a surrogate matriarch to many others.

Keen, bright and independent, circumstances dictated that she assume a care taking role at home for her father and younger brother at the age of 14 when her mother passed. Although this meant that she could not pursue her education, she became a life long learner and everyday she would challenge her keen mind to learn something new. She was a listener and a seeker of knowledge. She finally had a chance and took her first job outside the home at age 55 and continued working into her 70's. Age was never a mental road block and she felt it just gave her time and more opportunity to learn and grow.

Jackie loved nothing better than to walk and hike and challenge herself, physically as well as mentally and at age 80 she decided she would do the Crack Trail in Killarney. Of course, as in all things, she exceeded everyone's expectations and met that goal with ease and continued to set new goals.

Jackie, an independent woman, living life physically, emotionally and intellectually with positivity and making sound decisions for herself until her last day, at 94+ years of age, was a true force of nature.
