It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Richard (Rick) Gene Hanninen at the age of 70. He passed away surrounded by loved ones after a short battle with pancreatic cancer May 6th, 2023.

Rick was the loving father of 3 daughters, Lisa, Kayla (husband Matt Christensen) and Pamela. Proud grandfather to Jayden, Ethan, Charlotte and Annabelle. Predeceased by his mother Rita Hanninen and brother Bruce Hanninen. Survived by his father Roy Hanninen, his siblings Denise (husband Paul Huffels), Brian (wife Laurie), Randell (wife Laurie St-Denis) and Lee-Ann of Sudbury. Equally missed by his godson Sean Huffels and many other close nieces, nephews and friends.

Born on September 8th, 1952 in Sudbury, Rick was the second oldest of 6 children and raised in Long Lake where he enjoyed the outdoors, boating and his days at camp. He was a pipefitter by trade and member with Local 800 for over 50 years. He successfully owned and operated Hanking Mechanical for over 20 years.
