Obituary for Kirsten Kimberly Maki Peters (Maki)

Kirsten Maki Peters passed away suddenly and unexpectedly on Saturday, April 29, leaving behind a devastated community, including her husband Jayme, six children, Tristen (19), Kieyah (18), Alexzander (17), Aathenna (7), Cheyton (2), Dakohta (9 months) and her mother Tammy Maki.

She was a vivacious, fiercely loving, and loyal woman who touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with. A superhero to many and a friend to even more.

Kirsten attended school and also worked part-time for her mom at Raven Rising-Global Indigenous Chocolates, whom she adored, and who adored her. She was an only child and the center of her mom's universe. Her infectious energy and warm personality drew people to her, and she had a gift for making everyone feel important and loved.

Kirsten's greatest joy in life was her family. A devoted wife and mother, her love for her children was boundless. Her children were her world, and she put them first, no matter what. Kirsten and Jayme were married in 2022, just over a year ago, and she was the happiest anyone had ever seen her. Jayme certainly loved and spoiled her, and the license plate on her vehicle told the world that as well.

She also leaves behind her best friend Natalie Vaudrin, who stuck with her through thick and thin, good, and bad, and even downright crazy times. As well as countless aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends who loved her dearly.

Kirsten leaves a void in our world that can never be filled. She will be missed more than words can express, but her memory will live on through the lives she touched and the love she gave to all who knew her. Kirsten was larger than life itself, and her light will continue to shine on in the hearts of those who loved her.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Go Fund Me Campaign that supports her family are deeply appreciated. https://gofund.me/75c9eafb

A very pink-themed Celebration of Life is planned for Sunday, May 28th, at the Moose Hall, 212 Frood Road in Sudbury, from 1 pm until whenever. Please bring any photos and stories you'd like to share. Bring your smiles and laughter, and if you have a mind to, wear some pink, it was her favourite colour. Let's give this girl a send-off she would love. "
