Obituary for David Paul Hansen

David Paul Hansen was welcomed home by Jesus on April 24,2023. He passed away peacefully at Health Sciences North at the age of 61 with his loved ones at his side. David was born on October 6,1961 at the Englehart hospital; he was the eighth of eleven siblings. He is the beloved father of Mary-Anne, Andrew and Trevor, and cherished grandfather of Breanna. Dear brother of Carol, Martha, Ella, Andy, Jimmy, Ronnie, and Lyle. Predeceased by his parents Ronald and June Hansen (Saunders) and brothers Thomas, Peter and Orron.

David was a kind and loving person, who always put others before himself. Always quick to offer a helping hand and support his family and friends. David truly found his calling at a young age in mechanics. He spent many years fixing cars, trucks, and heavy equipment. He also mined and operated the very machinery he so often fixed. All of which he took great passion in. His pride in his work always drove him to seek perfection. His work ethic was unmatched, for he had deep love in his trade. He often found happiness in fixing all things.

David lived with ALS for 15 years. In that time, he demonstrated what courage, strength, determination, selflessness, will power, and love was all about. He never travelled the easy path as so many of us often do. He did things his way and never let his illness run his life. He gave us many great years, memories, and always lifted our spirits.

David was a lover of God, music, cars, family, and friends. His smile was contagious and always brightened our day. David will forever be known as a hardworking, caring person. He often gave to charity even through hardship, and always wanted to give to those in need.

May he go in peace to paradise to join God, family, and friends before him. We are so grateful for all the time and memories you have given us.

A special thanks to David's pastor Klaus Henrik Saari, who David found great comfort and admiration in. Also to the staff at Ancaster Family Chiropractic, New Sudbury chiropractic and wellness center, Health sciences North, St. Joseph’s Continuing Care, and Home and Community care for helping David throughout his journey. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
