Obituary for Marie Elizabeth "Betty" Zmijowskyj (Gordon)
In loving memory of Marie Elizabeth “Betty” (Gordon) Zmijowskyj, Saturday, April 29, 2023 at Extendicare York.
Beloved mother of Michael (Nancy), Anne (Brian), Mark (Suzanne) and Dr. Tim (Deena). Cherished grandmother of Russell, Alexandra, Nicholas, Natalie and great grandmother of Mila. Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Romea, and siblings Romaine, Raymond and George.
Betty worked for over 30 years in the health-care system, retiring from Laurentian Hospital in 1996. She was a dedicated volunteer receiving the Ontario Volunteer Service Award twice. Betty was a committed member of St. Patrick’s Church and a Past President of the CWL.
A private family service will be held in the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, Wednesday, May 3, 2023. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Parkinson’s Society or L’Arche Sudbury would be appreciated.
