Obituary for Sandra Jean McCulloch (Richardson)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Sandra (Richardson) McCulloch. Sandy passed away peacefully on April 27, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Sandy was married to the love of her life, Bruce McCulloch, for 62 years. She was a loving mother to her children, Susan predeceased, Stephen predeceased (Marett), Scott (Denyse). She was the proud grandmother to 5 grandchildren: Sam, Alex, Devin, Montana and Garett. Sandy’s family was the most important thing in her life, and she took great pride and joy spending time with them.
Sandy was one of 8 siblings and had a wonderful childhood in Tilbury. She will be missed by her siblings, Anne predeceased (Ken), Richard (Bev predeceased), Judy (Dale), Stephanie predeceased (Richard predeceased), Bill (Jean), David, and Bob (Diane). She will also be missed by her extended family grandsons, Mason and Alan.
Bruce and Sandy started their family in Toronto, moved to North Bay, finally settling down in Sudbury.
She was known for her competitive nature and for the love and pride she had for her family.
Sandy was an active member in the golf community, both in Sudbury and Fort Myers. She was the Senior Club Champion of both the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club and Fiddlesticks Golf Club in 1990 and was very proud of getting 5 holes in one over her many years of golf. She was a golf course rating agent and was proud to review numerous golf courses across Ontario. Sandy was the first female president of the board of directors for the North Bay YMCA. Sandy’s accomplishments were numerous and impactful.
A heartfelt thank you to the staff of the ICU unit at HSN. Their high level of care and consideration during a stressful time were greatly appreciated. A special thanks to Dr. Kerr, Caroline and Zach for their efforts to make all our family comfortable during our time there.
She will be deeply missed by her family and friends. A Celebration of Sandy’s life will be held on Wednesday May 3rd from 3-6pm at the Idylwylde Golf and Country Club, 400 Walford Road Sudbury, with words of remembrance to be shared at 5pm.
