In loving memory of Edith “Edey” Saarinen (née Ojala), 80 years who passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Health Sciences North with loving family at her side. Beloved wife of Oiva Saarinen. Loving mother of Kai Saarinen (Deborah) and Kristen Large (John). Cherished Mummu of her Kultas Kristopher and Kendra Saarinen and Lauren Large. Dear daughter of Niilo and Laina (née Korpi-Tuuri) Ojala both predeceased. Dear sister of Eira Kurkimaki (Mikko) predeceased, Evelyn Hromlak (Peter), Robert Ojala (Myrna) and Ken Ranta (Linda). Sadly missed by nieces and nephews. Edey worked for 24 years at CAA and retired in 2003. Edey spent much of her time and dedication to the Ladies of Kaleva and the Finnish Historical Society. She was a lady of great class and loved to entertain with her lavish meals. Edey spent her later years at Bel Lago Condos and Titusville, Florida where she made many special bonds and friendships. Her family would like to thank the staff of the 5th Floor, South Tower at Health Sciences North for their excellent care and compassion towards Edey.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
