Obituary for Bert Duchesne
In loving memory of
Bert Duchesne
88 years
Friday April 21, 2023, at his home in Killarney, Ontario.
Beloved husband of Beverley (Proulx) of Killarney. Loving father of Terry Gervais (Edgar), Denise Burke (Bruce), Michelle Solomon (Willie), Mary Duchesne, and Andre Duchesne (Kelly).
Dear grandfather of Andrea (Dave), Crystal (Adam), Danny (Darolyn), Nicole (Shane), Richard (Naomi), Daryl, Christopher, Aidan, and Addison.
Dear great-grandfather of Maeva, Cruz, Teagan, Gage, Logan, Audra, Lyla, and Daxton.
Dear son of the late Ligori and Yvette Duchesne. Dear brother of Dolores (Bert), Joseph-Henry (Lisette), Mariette (Andre), Joachim (predeceased), and Marthe (predeceased).
Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
Born in La Malbaie, Quebec in 1934, Bert left in 1959 to sail the Great Lakes as an Oiler on the freight liners, where he met his “Petoo”, Bev. Soon after, they moved to Bev’s hometown of Killarney, Ontario to start their family, where he lived the rest of his days.
Retiring at the age of 79, after a 4-decade long career travelling across Canada as a driller, Bert enjoyed spending his days driving around Killarney holding up traffic, sitting in his chair watching who was going by, drinking Blue and watching the Montreal Canadiens.
Above all else, Bert loved being around his family and will be deeply missed by them all.

Resting at the Killarney Mountain Lodge (Friends may call from 2-10pm Tuesday and after 10am Wednesday)
Funeral Mass in the St. Bonaventure Church, Killarney, Wednesday, April 26th, 2023, at 2pm.
Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Killarney Health Centre would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
