Obituary for Esther Hazel Briggs (Schneider)
In loving memory of Esther Hazel (Schneider) Briggs who passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Villa on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 83 years with loving family at her side. Loving wife of Donald Earl Briggs, predeceased. Beloved mother of Glenda (Zoel McLaughlin, predeceased), Nancy (Druve Sookram), Norma (Jamie Nelder), Ruth (David Laari), Joyce (Wayne Ferris), Laurel (Lloyd Crocker) and honorary 7th daughter Chitra Persaud. Dearest grandmother of Krista, Melissa and Angela McLaughlin, Sarah, Shawna, Stephanie and Jordan Sookram, Amy, Christopher and Jessica Nelder, Melinda and Vanessa Laari, Samuel, Joanna and Caleb Ferris, Emma, Rebekah and Rachel Crocker and honorary grandchildren Xena, Kyra and Dana and many great grandchildren.
Cherished daughter of Henry and Ida (Lewis) Schneider. Dear sister of Dorothy Todd predeceased (Pat), Myrtle Ostrom (George) both predeceased, Barbara Cole (Manson) and Beverley Stead (Wayne). Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews. Esther had been a longtime resident of Dowling. She was a dedicated member of Larchwood Bible Chapel. She was an excellent cook whose hospitality was enjoyed at her delicious dinners especially her roast beef entrees. She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. A woman of faith she lived Jesus’ lessons of loving God and her neighbour on a daily basis. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Share the Word (Gideon Bibles) or Larchwood Bible Chapel would be appreciated. Resting at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury. (Friends may call 2-5; 7-9pm Wednesday and after 12noon Thursday) Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel on Thursday, April 27, 2023, at 1pm. Interment in the Maplecrest Cemetery.
