Rachel had the biggest heart and the most generous spirit. Gifting her daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren gave her such joy. It was not the gifts we cherished however; it was her indomitable capacity to love and make all of us feel so special and truly purposeful. Her generosity was evident in the time and years spent devoted to volunteering with the Girl Guides, ringette and the Catholic Women’s League. Her generosity and love were further extended through her many talents. She was an amazing artist and an extraordinary knitter, bestowing her beautiful works upon us throughout her lifetime.
Rachel’s life long battle with Crohn’s disease never stopped her from pursuing her interests and achieving success. Her successes and interests included hairdressing, curling, golfing, bowling, camping, Tai Chi, reading and travelling the world to name a few.
Rachel was devoted to loving her husband, loving her family, loving God and loving life. Rachel and Marcel’s inspirational marriage of 61 years provided their daughters with an amazing path to follow and emulate. She was strong. She was funny. She was determined. She was loved. We will miss you Rachel, Mom, Mémé and great- Mémé.
