Obituary for Elizabeth Marie Jokinen (Antoine)

On Monday, April 10, 2023, in her 103rd year our Mother, Elizabeth Marie Jokinen (Antoine)
joined her loving husband Eino Jokinen in heaven.

Born December 26, 1920 on a farm along the shores of the French River in Bigwood, Ontario to loving parents John (Jack) Antoine and Justine Antoine (Deroy), Elizabeth was one of thirteen children; Oswald, predeceased (Ida, predeceased), Ida, predeceased (Russell, predeceased), Violet, predeceased (Ernest, predeceased), Peter, predeceased (Lorraine), Norman, predeceased (Helen, predeceased), George, predeceased, Victor, predeceased (Jean, predeceased), Ola (Oscar, predeceased), Isabelle, predeceased, Stanley, predeceased, Gerald (Muriel, predeceased, Noella), Jack, predeceased (Myrna, predeceased). Greatly missed by her three children; Antoine (Tony) Boisvenue (Jeanne), Elsie Galipeau (Larry, predeceased) and Donna MacLeod (Rod), her four grandchildren; Debbie Crouch (Lee), Sherry Maki (Craig), Michael Boisvenue (Giselle) and Dan Galipeau, her six Great Grandchildren; Ryan Crouch (Brittany), Jordan Frolich (Katelane, predeceased), Joshua Boisvenue (Jillian), Jacob Boisvenue, Brandon Maki and Tyler Maki and her five Great, Great Grandchildren; Hailey, Jace, Eliana, Alyne and Elizabeth. Sadly missed by her special friend, Lorraine Boisvenue (Wayne).

Elizabeth’s love for her family was her strength and stay, followed closely by her love of adventure. Always up for any trip, party, wedding or visit, she was ready to join in and never said no. She even went sailing on Lake Huron at age 90. She enjoyed her shopping excursions to Sault Ste. Marie and she always enjoyed welcoming friends and relatives who made special trips to visit her. She was still attending family gatherings right up to her final days.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St. Sudbury on Friday, May 19, 2023, from 2-4pm.

In lieu of flowers donations to the Health Sciences North Foundation are greatly appreciated.
