LAFFRENIER, William (Bill) John
June 24, 1948 - March 11, 2023
On Saturday, March 11, 2023, William (Bill) John Laffrenier of Barrie, Ontario passed away suddenly at the age of 74.
Beloved husband of Tracy. Loving father of Bill (Mary Ann), Ashley (Phillip), and stepfather to J.J. Proud grandfather of Hilary (Lovedeep), Alyssa and Kaylee. Cherished big brother of Linda (predeceased), Robert (Sonja), Richard (Jolanta) (both predeceased), Michael (Sherry), Debra-Ann (predeceased), Brenda (Joel), Cathy (Dan) and Cari (John). He will be missed by many nieces and nephews and by many close friends. He will also be missed by his loving dog companion, Nemo.
Bill was the oldest child of Betty and Bill Laffrenier (both pre-deceased) of Onaping. He was born on June 24th, 1948 in Haileybury, Ontario. He proudly worked for the Metro Toronto Police for 30 years and retired in 2003. He loved to dance, sing karaoke, go fishing, play cards, but most of all loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren and, of course, watch his beloved Maple Leafs play. He enjoyed traveling, especially with his wife Tracy, they enjoyed many cruises together over the years and he cherished these very much.
He left his mark on this world with the kindness, support and love that he was always willing to share with anyone who needed it. Even at 74, Bill never got old. Young at heart and in spirit forever, he will be truly missed by all who were close to him.
Interment at Maple Crest Cemetery in Dowling, Ontario on June 3, 2023 at 12:00 pm. Celebration of Life and Refreshments at 3939 RR35, Chelmsford, Ontario directly after the ceremony.
