Obituary for Gum Sack "Rocky" Lee
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Gum Sack “Rocky” Lee at Health Sciences North on Monday, March 20th, 2023 at the age of 87.
Rocky came to Canada from Canton, China in January 1950 joining his father in Sudbury where he lived until his passing. Rocky was the loving father of Edwin, and cherished brother of Margaret Wong (Chuck), and of Marilyn (Michael St. Amand). He also leaves behind his nephew and nieces Sy Wong (Emily), Rosanne Wong, and Chloé St. Amand. He is also fondly remembered by his great nephew Keith Wong. He was predeceased by his parents Wah J. Lee and Fong G. Lee.
A loyal and generous friend to many, Rocky was known as a happy-go-lucky, avid, adventurous, and accomplished fisherman, sharing his knowledge with everyone. He was always happiest with a rod and reel in his hands. Any day fishing was a good day.
Rocky was a very special person who will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Services will be held at the R. J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. Visitation will take place on Sunday April 16th, 2023 from 10:00 am until at 11:15 am. A funeral service will follow at 11:30 am. There will be a private burial at Park Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
