Obituary for Stanislas "Stanley" Janakowski (Janakowski)

In loving memory of Stanislas “Stanley” Janakowski 87 years. Passed away peacefully at his residence on Saturday, March 18th, 2023 with his family by his side.

Beloved husband of 56 years to Edith “Jean” Janakowski (nee Johnston) predeceased in 2018. Loving father of Gloria Richer, Gordon (Margerette), Kurt (Katie), Mark (Kilmeny), and David (Mary-Lee). Cherished grandfather of Dale (Tammy), John (Jasmine), Kari (James), Michael, and Lorrie, and great grandfather of Alexandria (Wes), Caitlyn (Cole), Riley, Addison, Janelle, Emma, Josh, and Grace. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Genowefa Janakowski (nee Brudnowska) and sisters Helena, Anna, and Alice. He is survived by his brothers John and Richard, as well as many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Stanley was born in Poland on August 5th, 1935 and immigrated to Canada in 1951. He worked as a miner for 36 years with Vale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and wine making.
The family would like to thank Dr. Susil from the City of Lakes Health Center for his care, Dr. St. Martin, as well as the staff, nurses, and caregivers at Bayshore. We would also like to express a special thank you to David, for taking such good care of mom and dad for the past 6 years.

Funeral service at the Lougheed Funeral Home (252 Regent Street, Sudbury) on Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 at 11:30 am. Friends may gather at the funeral home after 10:00 am on Thursday.
