Obituary for Cathy Ann McPhee (McPhee)

September 9, 1959 – March 3, 2023. It is with great sadness that the McPhee family announces the passing of Cathy Ann McPhee at Health Sciences North with her loving family and friends by her side.

Cathy Ann has now been reunited in heaven with her father Gordon McPhee and her furry sidekick Buster. She leaves behind her mother Georgette McPhee (nee Lachance), sister Deborah, brother Gary, sister in-law Shawna, nephews Neil McPhee (Josée), Kevin McPhee, Donald McPhee (Marie-Ange), Michael Zinni (Melissa), great nephews Dylan, Jaxson, Tanner, Luca, and great nieces Teagan and Gabriella. She will be remembered by many cousins and Aunts Gisele and Sylvia. Cathy Ann also remained good friends with her former husband Al Hutchinson.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Dee Dee Corriveau, who helped Cathy immensely, as well as the family and friends who messaged or visited Cathy Ann to extend their heartfelt and tearful goodbyes. Many thanks to numerous specialists in Sudbury, Toronto, and London who cared for Cathy Ann throughout her lifetime of health challenges, the Northeast Cancer Centre, the Dialysis unit, the ST-5th floor doctors, nurses, PSWs, chaplains who ensured continuous care and comfort, and to Dr Singh and Dr. Peters. Thank you to Mobility2Home, who provided much needed services when Cathy Ann’s mobility was hampered.

Cremation has already taken place. A private burial will take place at a later time. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation or the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated. Please consider registering for organ and tissue donation at https://www.ontario.ca/page/organ-and-tissue-donor-registration.

The legacy Cathy Ann leaves with us is her love of family and friends, her wry sense of humour, and her perseverance and ability to fight and never give up no matter what she was suffering through.

Arrangements entrusted to Sudbury Park Lawn Cremation Services.
