Obituary for Marguerite Agnes May Gauvreau (Leclair)

Marguerite Gauvreau (née Leclair) passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023, at Carefree Lodge in Toronto. Beloved wife of Alphonse (predeceased). Dearest mom to Marian (predeceased), James (Lannie) of Brockville, Jane (Robert) of Mississauga, and Patricia (John) of Markham. Cherished grandmother of Jacqueline (Orlando) of Brockville, Andrew (Brittany) of Ottawa, David and Caroline of Markham, and Paul of Mississauga. Special great-grandmother to Callie and Melina of Brockville. Predeceased by her parents Elzéar and Emma Leclair and siblings Henry, Irene, Cecile, Jeannette, Fred (Pat) and Jim. Survived by brothers Joe and Paul (Shirley). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Marguerite lived most of her life in Lively and Sudbury raising her family and being an active member of the local CWL, Girl Guides of Canada, Seniors Groups, and various charitable organizations. She is fondly remembered as “Margie” to all the children she babysat over the years. In addition to her daily walks, she especially loved skating and cross-country skiing, and of course getting dressed up to go dancing! In her later years she loved going out for a coffee with her family and friends. The family would like to acknowledge the staff of Carefree Lodge for their compassionate care, especially the Main Level Health Care Team.
At her request, no funeral will be held. A private interment will take place at a later date. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. For donations or messages of condolence, www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com
