Obituary for Keith Furevick

With heavy hearts, we share the passing of our husband, Dad, son, brother, and friend, Keith Furevick, after a battle with cancer. He passed peacefully at home on Monday, January 30th, 2023, surrounded by the love of his family. Keith was a loving husband of nearly 40 years to Donna Furevick, devoted father to Ashley (Matthew), and Myles (Tanya), and proud Poppa to Ryder, Julia, and Baby Girl Furevick due in just a couple of weeks. He will also be sorely missed by his beloved four legged buddy of 17 years, Marty.

Keith is predeceased by his father, Marland Furevick. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his mother Catherine, brother Scott (Brenda), sister Janice Furevick, and uncle Kent Hunter. He is predeceased by his uncles Bill (Lori), and Brian (Georgana) Hunter. He will also be missed by his brother-in-law Donald Verhash, as well as many nephews.

Having moved many times throughout the years, Keith was lucky to have many friends who were like family. He will be deeply missed by lifetime friends from Sudbury, Peterborough, Dryden, Orleans (Navan), and Burlington. Faced with unbeatable odds, he persevered because of the unwavering support of his family and friends. For this, we are forever grateful.

Keith was happiest when he was outside working in the yard or tending to his gardens. His ideal Saturday was spending the day at the lake with his family, listening to music, and telling stories. He was an active and energetic guy and was always up for an adventure. As a competitive curler, he competed in bonspiels at the international and provincial level, and locally, at the Idewylde Golf and Country Club. Keith loved skiing with his family and golfing with his regular foursome.

Keith always had a project on the go, and most recently, was especially proud of his work building a beautiful new deck around our family home. He was dedicated to his career with the Royal Bank of Canada. His relationships with his colleagues and clients provided him with a distraction from his health issues, allowing him to continue to work throughout much of his treatment.

There will be no visitation or service. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Keith’s memory to the Northern Cancer Foundation Cancer Center or the Brain Tumour Foundation of Canada. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home.
