Obituary for Rocco Santo Reale

In loving memory of Rocco Santo Reale, 91 years who passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at Health Sciences North with loving family at his side. Beloved husband of Agata (Ieropoli) Reale. Loving father of Diego, Mary (husband Renato Verrilli), Dominic (wife Dena), and Lina. Cherished nonno of Dawson and Carson. Dear son of Diego and Giuseppa Reale both predeceased. Dear brother of Nicola (wife Nicoletta) both predeceased and Elisabetta (husband Domenico) both predeceased. Sadly missed by loving nieces and nephews.

Dad’s greatest joy was spending time with his family especially “family dinner”every Sunday. He would always say “You have to eat to live.” Rocco was an avid gardener and looked forward to making wine and sausages. He loved playing “briscola” and “scopa” with his children and Crazy 8s with the whole family. He was beyond proud of his two grandsons, Dawson and Carson They filled his heart with so much joy and put an instant smile on his face when they came to visit “Nonno and Nonna”. Nonno made sure to never miss any of his grandchildren’s hockey and baseball games or special events. His daughter-in-law Dena and son in law Renato were special people in his life and enjoyed their company very much. Rocco enjoyed making his team picks for the bracket pool during the playoffs every year and attending Pro Am’s annual Christmas Eve gathering. He shared all of these activities with his wife, Agata that he loved and cherished and wanted by his side. Rocco was a kind and gentle soul and was friendly to everyone he met. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends. A special thanks goes to Fran, his caregiver for her gentleness and compassion. Thank you to all of the nurses, PSWs and doctors on the 7th floor at HSN for your kindness. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
