Obituary for Theresa M. Smith (Leblanc)
In loving memory of Theresa Smith (nee Leblanc) 93 years. Passed away peacefully on Monday, January 9th, 2023 at the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
Beloved wife of Robert “Bob” Smith predeceased in 2003. Loving and devoted Mother to Virginia “Vicki” Gainer (Eldon), Vivian Bortnak (Terry predeceased), Jason Smith (Caroline), Kirby Smith predeceased, baby Mary Smith predeceased, Rebecca “Bec” Duhamel (Peter “Jack” predeceased), and Ted Smith (Carrie).
Cherished Grandmother of Kim Gainer Fell (Bob), Brad Gainer (Melissa), Jessica Bortnak, Ashley McCulloch (Mark), Devin Smith predeceased, Alexander Duhamel (Elaine), Ethan Smith (Chanel), Christopher Duhamel (Breanna), Vanessa Smith (Spencer), Colin Smith (Brooke), and Brooke Smith and Great Grandma to Kalle Gainer, Saryn Gainer, Knixen Smith and Jensen Smith. Predeceased by her parents Jeffrey and Rose Leblanc (nee Gauthier). Dear sister of Rosette Salo (Bert predeceased), and step sister of Aldege Leclaire (Doreen) both predeceased.
Theresa is remembered for her love of her precious birds and her immense flower gardens, family gatherings that always included enough food and drink to last a week or two, and her desire that everyone eat one more plate or have at least one more drink!
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Tara Fielding from Bay Shore, Dr. Singh and his staff at the Cancer Center, and to Sophie, Roxanne, Nathalie, Ashley, Brittany, Nicole, Jodie, and Julie at the Maison McCulloch Hospice for taking such good care of Theresa.
As per Theresa’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium with a private family memorial service in the summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Norther Cancer Foundation – Cancer Center, or the Maison McCulloch Hospice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Homes.
