Obituary for Lynn Churchill Rector

In loving memory of Lynn Churchill Rector 80 years. Passed away peacefully at his residence with his loving family by his side on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023 after a long courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia. Beloved wife and best friend of 58 years to Juanita Rector (nee Dalrymple). Loving and devoted father of Kimberlea, David (Lucie), Tammy (Josh), and Tina (Nicole). Cherished Pa/Grandpa of Steven, Jennifer, Amy, Bailey, and Chloe and great grandfather “Papa” of Karina, Haileigh, Nathan, Ben, and Lucas. Predeceased by his parents Leonard and Rose Rector (nee Downey) and siblings Deenie, Herbert, and Laura. Cherished brother of Wanda, Susan, and Sharon. Brother-in-law of Marge, Gloria, Thelma, John, Doreen, Phyllis, and Marion (predeceased). He will be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends, especially close family friends Donna and Richard, Theresa, and Gary. Lynn was born on January 24th, 1942 in Springhill, Nova Scotia, and moved to Ontario as a young man to make his fortune. He married the love of his life Juanita on April 4th, 1964. He started his career in mining, which brought him all over Northern Ontario. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, and gardening. He was very artistic; he was talented drawer and wrote beautiful poetry. He was a very kind hearted person and always there to help others without needing any praise to do so. He was a born-again Christian, and a past member of the Capreol Baptist Church, as well as a deacon in Capreol and in Elliot Lake. He was a strong, reliable man, who was always dependable. He loved to putter and was always happy and smiling. We will miss his sense of humor and his “Dad Jokes”. He was known as “The Candy Man” at the Springhill Candy Kitchen in Nova Scotia. Over the past 8 years, Lynn struggled with Lewy Body Dementia as a result of McIntyre Powder.
