It is with deep sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Laurette (Henri) Fortin on December 18th at the age of 96 in Sudbury. Beloved wife of Édouard Fortin (deceased) and devoted mother of Yvon (deceased) and René (Terry). Laurette was a very dynamic, talented, and resourceful woman who worked most of her life. She was a kind and loving person who adored her grandchildren Katie Fortin (Curt) and Jenny Fortin (Andrew), and great grandmother to Molly and Allie. Laurette was predeceased by her parents, Jean and Marianne Henri and her siblings Laurent Henri, Emile Henri, Blanche L’éclair, Jean-Marie Henri and Rosella Cormier. Laurette’s good nature and kind demure endeared her to many, and she was happiest when among family and friends. Laurette was very close to her many in-laws and a beloved aunt to numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held in Kapuskasing in the spring.
