Obituary for Rémi Micheal Lemaire

The family announces with sorrow the passing of Remi Lemaire 81 years. He was born and raised in Calumet Island, Quebec. A life in mining took him to Bancroft where he met his beloved wife Joyce (nee Fransky) of 62 years, then onto Elliot Lake then Chelmsford where he started and raised his family and continued his career in mining. He was a dedicated volunteer fire fighter for 25+ years in Rayside Balfour.

Cherished father of his daughter Michele Fredette (Michel), and dedicated son Kevin. Loving grandfather of Tyler (Megan), and Justin (Vanessa) all of Chelmsford, Megan (Jerome) of Temiskaming, and Jamie of Sudbury. Great grandfather of Blair, Oliver, Abbie, Amelia, Bonnie, Echo, and Eva.
He also leaves behind his brother Sylvio (Pauline), and sisters Suzanne (Sister of Ste. Marie), and Paulette (Gerry), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Aldora Lemaire, and by brothers Gaetan, and Joe, and sisters Vivianne, and Lucie. He also leaves behind his much loved four-legged friend Toby.

Respecting his wishes, there will be a memorial service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Friday, November 25th, 2022 at 11:30 am. Friends may gather at the funeral home on Friday after 10:30 am.
