Obituary for Colette Lucie Doyon (Michel)
It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved mother, Colette Doyon
(nee Michel).
Predeceased by her husband of 61 years, André (Andy) Doyon, her parents Eddie and Anna Michel, daughters in law Carole Mainville, Francine Doyon (Coté) and great-grandchild Jacob.
Cherished mother of 6 children, Michel (Lynn McMillan), Gerry (Monique Houle), Gilles (Mary Lou Hussak), Jeannette (Gerry Racine), Diane (Michel Bernard) and Lise (Gilles L’Heureux). Caring sister of Gérard Michel (Rachelle) and Claude Michel (Lilianne) She was greatly loved by her 14 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 8 step-great grandchildren, whom she adored. How she loved their visits. She will be missed by many close friends, cousins, nephews and nieces, and many at the Elizabeth Center where she resided these last two years.
Mom sang in the Blezard Valley church choir for many years. Her favourite past times were making flower arrangements, reading and playing Scrabble; in recent years, watching Christmas and reality shows, such as Say Yes to the Dress and 90 Day Fiancé. Our mother was a very caring, loving woman, always smiling, never complaining, with unconditional love. She has touched many lives along the way. Heaven has gained another angel.
Resting at the Lougheed Funeral Home, Hanmer/Capreol Chapel, 4601 Michelle Drive, Hanmer. (Friends may call 2-5pm and 7-9pm Sunday, November 20, 2022. Funeral Mass in Ste Marguerite d’Youville Church, 4290 Old Hwy 69, Val Therese, Monday, November 21 at 10:00am.
Cremation with interment in the family plot at the Valley East Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Notre Dame to Rosaire elevator fund would be appreciated.
