Obituary for Louis Richard Ross

In loving memory of Louis Richard Ross. January 13, 1941 - November 1, 2022

It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Richard Ross at age 81. Loving husband of Diane (Hamilton) Ross. Predeceased by father, Peter Ross and mother, Jeanne (Foucault) Ross, brothers Reginald & Lionel and sisters Louise, Aurise and Bernadette. Survived by brother Johnny and sisters Anita (Brian) Way/Ross, Joyce (Richard) Ross and Madeline (Marcel) Brunet. Loving father to Steven, Laurie, Christine, Jamie and Sheri. Loving stepfather to Jonathon (Catherine), Matthew and Jenna. Forever loved and missed by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nephews, nieces, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He will be forever missed by longtime friends Fern (Charmaine) Roy, Donna Levesque (Richard), James (Lillian) Levesque to name just a few. His furry companions Gerry and Shylo will remember him always.
Louis worked for the CN Railroad as a Bridge and Building Foreman until he retired. He was a lifelong member at the Legion (179) in Capreol where he took great pride in preparing many meals for charity. He loved to be surrounded by his family and friends at home and at social gatherings. Louis would take the fish he caught during the season and fry it in beer batter and host a huge fish fry. Not only did he enjoy cooking but he also liked doing the dishes!!! His hobbies included fishing, hunting, darts, playing cards, barbequing, and enjoying a cold brew on a hot day (to be replaced by "Near Beer" recently) etc. He had a wonderful sense of humor and a smile that would warm any heart. He was a good listener and spoke little but what he shared was always meaningful. He will forever be loved and missed by those who had the privilege to really know him.

We wish to extend our grateful appreciation to Doreen (Yvon) and Sabrina Laundry. We also wish to thank the staff at Health Sciences North for the wonderful care provided during his stay. Many thanks also to the caregivers that provided home services as you were very diligent and professional. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the Maison McCulloch Hospice where Louis spent his last days. Your care was exceptional and very much appreciated at a time of great need. A special thank you goes out to those who spent time in his home with him. They spent time cooking, cleaning, and providing things that only hearts filled with love could do.

In lieu of flowers please send a donation instead to the amazing Hospice mentioned above as the money will help others greatly. Thank you. Arrangements entrusted to the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home. For donations or messages of condolence www.lougheedfuneralhomes.com.
