Obituary for Wayne Charles Nebenionquit

Wayne Charles Nebenionquit Jr.
July 13, 1972 - October 10, 2022

Wayne “Bigelow” Nebenionquit Jr. made his way to the Spirit World on October 10, 2022. He will be greeted by his parents Wayne Nebenionquit Sr. baa and Brenda Nebenionquit baa (nee Wabegijig), both predeceased. Bigelow leaves behind his children Brenden (Jordan and Anthony), Charles (Kachena), Sophie, and brother Michael.

Bigelow was a proud member of Atikameksheng Anishnawbek where he made a lifetime of memories with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. All will remember Bigelow for his charisma, contagious laugh, and love for the outdoors.

His expert bush skills were inherited from a long line of hunters and fishermen which he proudly passed down to his boys. His athleticism and love of hockey are passed down to his daughter Sophie. Each of his children carry his same good-natured demeanor and kindness.

In recent years, Bigelow documented many of his adventures online as the original “Bushcraft”. The legendary videos were always talk of the town. People loved watching the latest update from Bushcraft while he was on the road in his big-rig, hunting, fishing, and living life his life to the fullest.

Funeral Service at the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Complex, Monday, October 17, 2022, at 10am. Interment in the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Cemetery. Friends may call after 2pm Saturday at the Complex.

Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
