Obituary for Pascal Leonne Joseph Noel
In loving memory of Pascal “Leo” Léonne Joseph Noel. It is with heavy hearts that Pascal’s family announces his passing on September 29th, 2022, at the age of 84 years old. Beloved husband of Maureen Noel (nee Marion) predeceased. Loving father of Ralph Poitras (wife Anna). Cherished grandfather of Ricky, Eva, and Michael. Predeceased by parents Joseph Albert and Berthe (Blais) Noel. Dear brother of Lévi (Roseanne), René (Jacqueline), Oscar, Jacques (Louise), Patrice, Odette (Eloi), Rachelle (Gaetano), Bélangère (Wilfrid), Monique (Pierre), and two Noel babies. Sadly missed by many nephews and nieces, especially Carrol Sisson (husband Paul) and Sonya Cloutier (husband Jamie).
Pascal was born in St. Francois de Montmagny, Quebec. He left home at an early age to work at Caisse Populaire. Realizing office work wasn’t for him, Pascal worked as a miner in Rouyn-Noranda, Elliot Lake, then 35 years at INCO. Starting at the Smelter for INCO, then becoming a welder at Creighton Mine. At Creighton, the guys knew Pascal as Joe Noel (big rod Joe). Hockey and curling were Pascal’s favourite sports. Pascal always had a good sense of humour, took care of his family, never complained, and did his best. Special thank-you to all the caring Nurses, PSWs, and staff at Finlandia Village, Manty Wing.
Funeral Service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury, on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at 1pm. (Friends may call after 11:30am Saturday October 15th.)
