Obituary for Eila Kivisto (Hanninen)
Eila Annikki Kivisto 96 years old
Eila passed away at home on 30 July 2022 after a lengthy illness. She was able to stay at home because of the loving support of family.
Eila was the matriarch of a large extended family. She immigrated from Finland in 1956, with her husband John (predeceased,1982) and six children.
The family settled at the farm in Long Lake. A seventh child was born in 1965. The children are Kirsti (Bill Hirvi predeceased) partner Keith Farmer, Peter (predeceased), Pentti (Jane), Paavo (Janet), Riitta-Liisa (Brian Melin), Pirjo (Bob Thibodeault), and Pauli (predeceased).
Eila has 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
There will be no visitation. A family service will be held at a later date. Cremation and interment will be at Park Lawn Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations to New Hope Lutheran Church, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, Northern Cancer Foundation, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.
