Obituary for Robert Kirschner

It is with deep sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Robert Kirschner (Rob, Bob, Rocky) at 67 years of age. Robert lived in Sudbury during the winter months, but was residing at his camp at the time of his passing on June 22, 2022.
Robert was born on June 2, 1955, in Sudbury to the most loving Mother, June Eles. Robert was raised with the assistance and guidance of grandparents who loved him unconditionally. Karl and Annie Rapsky (both predeceased) and Albert and Louisa Eles both predeceased. At the age of 5, his mother became June Kirschner when she married Henry Kirschner who became a devoted father to Robert. Together Robert and his Dad raced small electric cars, enjoyed many activities with the Boy Scouts, and experienced many adventures together camping and travelling.
In 1979, he met his loving spouse, Elizabeth Chellew, who spent a treasured 43 years at his side.
Robert attended Wembley Public School and Sheridan Technical School. He began his successful career as an insurance restoration contractor in 1976 working for Nadalin Construction. In 30 years, after working for several companies, Rob was proud to be the preferred contractor for many of the major insurance companies covering a large area of Northeastern Ontario.
He thoroughly enjoyed golfing, fishing, sledding, wave running, and especially loved being at his camp on a secluded island. He also enjoyed watching Blue Jays baseball and hockey. He would have loved to see his Toronto Maple Leafs win the Stanley Cup, and sometimes when they lost, he would threaten to sell all his memorabilia, but he never did. He was True Blue Forever.
He loved children and most found it easy to love him back equally. He was the proud sponsor of two under-privileged children in Africa.
His sense of humour was unparalleled and he was always the life of the party. Where ever there was laughter, Rob was usually at the centre.
Robert is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth Chellew, his son, Gary and wife, Cathy, and daughter, Jennifer and husband Norman, all in Sudbury. His grandchildren, Dan and wife Britney, Alex, Victoria, Kyle, and Kaylie all in Sudbury. His great grandchildren Kylie, Blake, and Scarlet. His loving Mother, June Kirschner and Father Henry Kirschner (pre-deceased). His brother, with whom he had a very close and special bond, Ronald Kirschner and wife, Lise. Nephews, Hunter, Joshua, Zachary, and Travis. And his buddy, Chase, his beagle.
