Obituary for Precious Darlene Lavigne (Costello)

Precious Darlene Lavigne (nee Costello) was born in Sudbury, Ontario. She passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 7, 2022, in Blind River, Ontario, at the age of 75 years. Devoted and loving wife and partner of Raymond Lavigne, of Blind River, for the past 35 years. Loving mother of Kelly Mihaichuk-Ball (Harold) of Sudbury, Susan Mihaichuk (Brandy) of Sudbury and Peter Mihaichuk (Amanda) of Coniston.
Cherished Grandma and Nana (She wanted to be called both) of Randi Schlaepfer, Kellie Mihaichuk, Dylan Fry, Devin Smith, Tara Smith, Hunter Mihaichuk and Brodie Mihaichuk. Great Grandma of Francis, Dakota, Noah, Calliope, Kimiwan and Kyanna. Predeceased by her late husband Andy Mihaichuk. Beloved daughter of William Eyre Harry Costello and Ezma Phillips Costello. Loving sister of Gary "Satch" Costello and Patricia "Patches" Costello MacKinnon. Daughter-in law of Aurele Lavigne and Eva Bradley Lavigne, and Peter Mihaichuk and Katherine Nakrayko Mihaichuk, all predeceased. Dear sister-in-law of Connie Mihaichuk, Joyce Costello, Rolande Brule, Tina Gagnon (Rosaire), Yvon Lavigne (Claudine),
Gaston Lavigne and Elaine Lavigne. She will be missed by her 40+ nieces and nephews. Her early years were fun filled summers camping at Bala, Ontario with her family. Many trips to visit her Phillips family in North Bay and her Costello family in Sturgeon Falls and Sudbury. In her teens Mom grew up on Tenth Ave in Lively, Ontario. She went to many dances at the YMCA in the '60s. She also
worked as a PSW for Extendicare York. Mom and Ray met roughly 38 years ago. She was a widow with three young children. Mom's Costello blue eyes, blonde
hair and Irish temperament. Ray was up for the challenge. We all are forever grateful to our Mom for finding love again with Ray, our father! So there began our parent’s journey of planning their retirement, within a few months of meeting they began researching which RV they would buy, boom, twenty years later they are snowbirds, they were able to thoroughly enjoy wintering in Florida for the past 17 years. Many long lasting, true friendships were made there. Mom and Ray's dream they absolutely loved was their time together at her heaven near the water at Dean Lake. She loved watching the sunsets, watching the hummingbirds and the birds. A life well lived, much loved, dreams achieved, no regrets! We want to send a very special thank you to all the nurses and doctors at the Blind River Hospital for the kindness and humanity they treated her with and our family. At her request there will be no funeral service. A celebration of Precious's life to be held at a later date. Please consider donations in her name to the Northern Cancer Foundation.
