Obituary for Barbara Joan Lipic (Humphreys)
Our precious mother, Barbara Joan Lipic, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022, in her 79th year. She devoted her life to her family and friends. She is now reunited with her beloved husband Robert (Dar) of 49 years. They had a collaborative and caring relationship. It was based on mutual support and a deep love for each other.
She is survived by her three children, who made up the entirety of her world. Rob (Cheryl), Ryan (Lee), and Caralyne. Nanny, to her grandchildren, were the pride and joy of her life. Bobby (Vanessa), Alicia, Mikhellie, Katie, Ella and Benjamin. They will carry on her legacy by what they say and do, what they create, share and all that they influence. Great-Nanny to Bentley and a grand daughter soon to enter this world will know of the love in her heart.
Barbara was born in Haileybury in 1943. Daughter of Alfred and Winifred Humphreys. Sister to Winnifred, Alfred, Joan, Leslie (all predeceased) and Rita Garofolo. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met whether it be with her quilting guild, her “Thursday Church ladies” at the Epiphany or her many close friendships that lasted a lifetime. Special thank you to her lifelong friend Ann, the late-night chats you two had brought a smile to her face. Francis, Margaret, for their time together over lunches, dinners, a drive to nowhere or a few days in Temagami. Catherine for the help and support and countless hours you spent organizing quilts for NEO Kids, a fundraiser held dear to her heart. She was a protector to her family, a person of faith and lived life serving others. You will be missed but not forgotten.
A very grateful thank you to the staff of Maison McCulloch Hospice, the many healthcare workers, particularly Stacey and Karen for their wonderful treatment and respect for our mother while at home.
There will be no visitation. A service at The Church of the Epiphany, 85 Larch St., Sudbury is scheduled for 3:00PM Wednesday June 1, 2022. Donations, in lieu of flowers may be made to the Maison McCulloch Hospice.
