Obituary for Carol Frances Martha Storey (Grace)
In loving memory of Carol Storey (nee Grace), 77 years, who passed away unexpectedly at home on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022.
Predeceased by her parents, Harold and Ethel Grace as well as devoted husband Gordon. Carol’s passing leaves a huge hole in the hearts of those she left behind. Beloved partner to Peter Hellstrom, loving mother of Craig (Angela), and Neal (Brenna). Cherished grandma “Carrot” of Edyn, Madeline, Finn and Scarlett. Special aunt to Michael (Trish), Colin (Terra), and Karen. Loving sister of Jane Ann Freeze (Ken predeceased). Treasured friend and confidant to Peter Jr, Todd (Christine), Jenna and Karly. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, family and friends whom she loved very much.
Carol retired in 2000 after 35 years at Sudbury Hydro, giving her more time to enjoy curling at the Idylwylde, and golfing with the girls. Carol loved to spend time “up on the hill” in her favorite rock garden, adding in plants, and decorating with any “odds & sods” as she saw fit. It was both her stress relief and quiet time. When she wasn’t puttering around, she was keeping in touch with friends and loved ones both near and far sending text messages – often without her glasses on. Her “texting” h/e left something 2 the imagination…. trying 2 u/s her texts…. w/b hard w/o prior knowledge of Carol-text.
Funeral service in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home 233 Larch Street, Sudbury on Thursday, June 2nd, 2022, at 1PM. Friends may gather at the funeral home after 11AM on Thursday. A livestream of the funeral will be available at https://view.oneroomstreaming.com/authorise.php?k=1653607895186530 She will be resting alongside her husband Gordon in the Park Lawn Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
