Obituary for Ivano Vincenzo Rocca

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, Ivano "Calabria" Rocca, after a short but very courageous battle with cancer with his family lovingly by his side.

Born in Calabria Italy, Ivano was the son of Filippo and Francesca Rocca (predeceased) and brother to Antonio (Grazia) and Franco (Leonilda) of Italy. Loving father of Anthony (Marissa), Claudia (Nicholas), Michela Jennifer and Peter “PJ.” Nonno to Isla, Cristiana, Eloise and Jackz. Cherished Zio to many nieces and nephews in Sudbury and Italy. Special partner to Sherri Soulierre and cousin to Maria Mastroianni to whom we are sincerely grateful for their care and support.
Ivan was an incredibly hard-working man who owned and operated Calabria Cement and Tile since 1975. He loved the great outdoors and was happiest hunting, fishing and enjoying his amazing garden and camp. He was proud of his Italian traditions making his homemade wine and legendary salami and passing this on to the next generation. At his home there was always a table full of fabulous food and wine surrounded by friends and family.
Special thanks to the staff at Bayshore and to our amazing angels Linda Lautenschlager and Victoria Deroy-Saumur who took great care of him so he could spend his last days at home with family. We are also grateful for the outpouring of support from our friends and family over the last few months. The care packages, food and most importantly visits were sincerely appreciated.
Pa, we love you and not a day will go by that we won't think of you. The way you battled is truly inspiring, but we are happy that you are no longer suffering. We hope you are finally enjoying a glass or two or more of wine with Nonno and Nonna. Ti vogliamo bene. Ripose in pace Pa!
