Obituary for Georgette Lucille Gendron ( Côté)
In loving memory of Georgette Lucille Gendron (née Côté) 86 years. Passed away peacefully at Pioneer Manor on Monday, April 25th, 2022.
Predeceased in 2007 by her dear friend of 29 years Fernand Lalonde. Loving mother of Richard, Carole (Denis), Michel (Tracey), and Pierre (Francine). Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey, Cheryl (Hunter), Shawn, Alain (Cammie), Danielle (John), and Renée (René) and great grandmother of Hayden, Madison, Talia, Scarlett, and one more on the way. Predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mezilia Côté (née St. Germain) and siblings. She will be sadly missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Georgette enjoyed swimming, walking, knitting, and volunteering. She was an exceptional cook, and was best known for her homemade strawberry jam. She was a proud volunteer with the FFCF since 1977. She also worked as a custodian for over 25 years at the Sudbury Airport which she really enjoyed. Family was most important to her, she was happiest when spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends may gather at the Lougheed Funeral Home Hanmer/Capreol Chapel 4605 Michelle Drive, Hanmer on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 from 6-8 pm. A memorial mass will be held at St. Jacques’ Church in Hanmer on Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at 11:00 am, with a reception to follow at Club D'âge D'or in Hanmer. Cremation at the Park Lawn Crematorium. Private family interment in the Lasalle Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation, Diabetes Canada or Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Lougheed Funeral Home.
