Obituary for Richard "Rick" Stepancich

In loving memory of Richard “Rick” Stepancich, 51 years, passed away Monday, May 24th, 2021 at Health Sciences North. Beloved father of Emma (James McGuire) and Lily (Walter Edington) and missed by their mother Maddalena. Cherished son of Fulvio and Adele (Impinto) Stepancich. Loving brother of Leslie and Robert. With heavy hearts we take time to celebrate and remember the life of Rick. He was a kind and loving father to his two daughters and his dogs. He loved sitting in the sun with his sister and mom, fishing with his brother, enjoying a cup of coffee outside Tim Horton’s and most of all sharing a pizza and movie with his kids and dogs. Rick was easy to talk to, he was the type of person who would remember everyone and always go out of his way to say hello and see how you were doing. Even if he met you once he would refer to you as his “chum” or “pal” forever. He was a good listener and gave the best advice. During the winters Rick enjoyed movie marathons, cartoons and playing video games. He was a big kid at heart! He hated the cold and couldn’t wait for summer to come so he could enjoy all his favourite things. He loved anything to do with sports cars or motorcycles and going to the car shows. In his lifetime he owned a Shelby Mustang, Dodge Viper, Nissan GTR and mostly recently his Roush Mustang. He loved to get a coffee and talk cars with anyone who would ask. He had a huge heart and even if he didn’t always show it, he was full of love. He loved his family and especially animals. His children feel at peace knowing he is in a better place somewhere with his Shar Pei Rolo enjoying pizza and an action movie in beautiful weather. He will be deeply missed by the Stepancich family, Carniel family, his dog Gus and everyone who knew him. We can only hope he made a lasting impression on every life he touched, and that he will be kept in thoughts and prayers. In lieu of flowers, donations to Pet Save would be appreciated. The family invites family and friends to the interment of his ashes at the Civic Memorial Cemetery on Second Ave Thursday, August 19th, 2021 at 1pm.
