Obituary for Mary Harden (Crockett)

With profound sadness we announce the passing of a spirited, good humoured, endearing lady, Mary Harden (Oct 18, 1943 – May 18, 2021). She will dearly be missed by her loving husband John and her canine bestie Bella.
Mary was the proud mother of Luann (John), Terry (Shelly), Cathy (Greg), Tracy (Dan), Stepmother to Shawn, Laurie and Tracey (Gus). She was affectionately known as “crazy nanny” to her grandchildren Brittany (Kevin), Taylor, Christopher, Kristen, Kyle, Hailey, she was also nanny to Sandra, Sarah, Nicholas, Peter, Mitchell, Shyanne, Shalyne, Mathew and Danilynn. Mary certainly adored her great grandchildren Charlotte, Rachel, Josh, Mathew, and Olivia.
Mary leaves behind her brother Terry (Joanne), sisters Donna (Ron) and Darlene (Edward) and sister-in-law’s Carole and Susan. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Mary was a strong woman who lived her life by her own set of rules. She had a passion for a variety of things. She acquired her amateur radio license, she loved Bingo, any card game (and was incredibly competitive) she was a vocal Toronto Maple Leaf’s fan and could loudly be heard when the game was on. Later in life she became an amazing quilter, a gift she gave to many. Mary could also be the life of the party, offering her opinions on many subjects. She has left a hole in our hearts but her many memories will live on.
The family would like to sincerely thank Dr. Cavanagh, Dr. Cameron, Dr. Mehta and the exceptional nursing staff in the ICU that took such good care of Mary.
A celebration of life will take place Saturday August 7th at Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home at 1pm. (Friends may gather after 11am Saturday)
Donations can be made to HSN Foundation ICU unit, The Lung Association, or a charity of your choice.
