Obituary for Dennis Clark Monahan

In loving memory of Dennis Clark Monahan, 77 years who passed away on Tuesday, May 18th, 2021 at his home. Dennis was born in New Liskeard on June 1st, 1943 and moved to Porcupine with his parents, Clarence and Iola both predeceased. He was employed with Ontario Reality Corporation and was transferred to Sudbury where he worked until he retired in 1998. He was loved by his wife Dawn who he shared 47 years of marriage with. Was blessed to have twins, Sean (wife Erin and grandsons Austin, Connor and Jacob) and Heather (husband Jason Evans and granddaughter Brinley). He will be missed by his brothers, Lorne (wife Joanne) and Gerald (wife Sharon) as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Dennis always said he was a “farmer at heart”. He always enjoyed working on his Uncle’s and Grandfather’s farms. His love of farming continued with his own gardens. His architectural background led to his love of art and painting. Dennis was content in all things, days spent fishing, breakfast with Sean and the boys, adventures with Bob, sitting around a campfire or watching waves roll in. The simple things in life brought him joy. As a member of the Glad Tidings Church Community, his faith did not start and end on Sunday. Dennis lived his faith daily and set a standard for his children to look up to and admire.
“May the road rise up to meet you.
May the winds be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
and rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, may God hold
you in the palm of His hand.”
We will see you again. Until then, we are grateful for all the special memories that you have given us. In lieu of flowers, donations to Inter Varsity Pioneer Camp Ontario, 942 Clearwater Lake Rd., Port Sydney, ON P0B 1L0.
