Obituary for Anne Anderson (Elliott)

In Loving Memory of Anne Willo Sheila Anderson, 96 years who passed away on May 5, 2021 at Golden Birches Terrace, Blind River. Beloved wife of the late Lorne Anderson. Loving mother of Sheila Fryer (Terry) and Eric Anderson (Donna). Cherished grandmother of Sara, Joel, Julia (Rob), Britany, and great-grandchild Anders. Dear daughter of the late William and lsabella Elliott. Loving sister of Robert, Harold, Frances, Maida, Mary, Douglas and Grace all predeceased. She will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Anne was born in Cache Bay, and the family eventually settled in Sudbury Ontario. She met her husband Lorne on a blind date, married and formed their lives together. Anne was an active part of the Sudbury community. A founding member of St. Stephens on the Hill United Church and a proud member of the Beta Sigma Phi for over 70 years. Her career started at London Life and then in later years for the Sudbury School Board in schools around the region. Anne was always on the go. Walking, bird watching, blueberry picking, pickling, crocheting, cooking, baking and spending summers at their camp Elsa Bay at Parry Sound. In the winter it was cross country skiing with Lorne. Anne had a life well lived and loved. Anne and Lorne were married for 69 years. They surrounded themselves with relatives and friends who were welcome to drop by to enjoy a glass of wine and to share a good joke. They spent 50+ years at their most cherished place, their camp at ELSA Bay in Parry Sound. Mom's no non-sense attitude, strength of character, sense of humor and devotion to family will be a constant reminder of her love. We hope you are dancing the Parry Sound Two Step with Dad in the afterglow. A very special Thank You to Dr. Mark Deverall and the staff of Golden Birches Terrace, for their wonderful care during Mom's stay. Due to restrictions a private ceremony will be held at Civic Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to; Golden Birches Residence Council, North Shore Health Network P.O Box 970 Blind River Ontario P0R 1B0.
