Obituary for Rocco Cuomo (Cuomo)

In loving memory of Rocco and Lorraine (nee Larocque) Cuomo who passed away within 24 hours of each other, April 27th and April 28th, 2021 at the ages of 99 and 95. Married for 69 years, they lived, loved and died together. Long time Sudbury natives, Rocco, the son of Italian immigrants, worked as a foreman for Canadian Pacific Railroad and then later as a Transportation Manager at INCO. He retired at 60 and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and spending time with his family. Lorraine, whose parents were born in Quebec, was an attentive mother who doted on her children. Beloved by their four children for their extraordinary kindness and warmth, Rocco and Lorraine were always full of encouragement and tenderness. They leave behind, son Ron Cuomo, his wife Margaret, grandchildren Maria (Luke) and Anthony (Amanda) and great grandchildren Ella, Gwyneth, Florence and Rocco, son Ken Cuomo and Lisa Hart, and grandsons, Hart and Foster, daughter Janice Hoff-man, and husband James (deceased) and grandchildren Marisa and Robert and their youngest, daughter Christine, passed away April 27th, 2003. Both from large families, Rocco will be lovingly remembered by his sisters and brother, Dan (Delma), Teresa (Don), Faustina (Santo), Josephine (Vic), Lenore (Dominic), Marie (George) and the late Ava, Sylvia, Lucy, Stella, and Anna. Lorraine was predeceased by her siblings Percy (Sally), Lily, Alma (Cyril), Lloyd, (Barbara) and Dorothy (Victor). Rocco and Lorraine will be remembered by their large circle of nieces, nephews. Rest in Peace, Rocco and Lorraine. Your loving natures and devotion to each other made a difference to all who were fortunate to know you. A Memorial Service will be held in the R.J. Barnard Chapel, Jackson and Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch St., Sudbury, on Monday, July 12th, 2021 at 11am. Friends may gather after 10:30am Monday.
