Obituary for Percy (Percival) William Sabourin

In loving memory of Percy Sabourin who passed away on April 28, 2021 at Health Sciences North at the age of 95. Father of Gerald (Paulette), Louise (Gaston Messier), Raymond (Doreen), and Suzanne (Johns Starks). Grandfather of many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Percy was born on April 13, 1926 and was the eldest child of five children of the late Bernadette (Martin) and William Sabourin and was raised in Callander, Ontario. Survived by his sister Madeline Champagne (the late Rheal) and predeceased by his sisters Lillian Hinchberger, Jean Norman (Orville) and his brother Gilbert Sabourin (Eunice). Percy was a very hard worker and started at the young age of 14. He worked in a lumber camp, drove delivery trucks, drove Street Cars in Sudbury and then proceeded to become a police officer. He was a strong, hardworking man who took pride in everything he did. Percy was known for his love of woodworking, crafts and motorhomes. Percy spent the last 40 years of retirement making grandfather clocks, cabinets, mirrored wall hangings, life size moose and deer sculptures and much more. Purchasing older motorhomes and restoring them was most definitely his passion. He was considered Jack of all trades with a sense of humor with stories and jokes always to be told. He will be truly missed by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Health Sciences North Foundation would be appreciated.
