Obituary for Mick Lowe

Michael Ellenwood Lowe
September 23, 1947 - April 17, 2021

Journalist, Writer, Activist, Warrior for the working class, but most of all much-loved husband, father, brother, stepdad, grandpa, and poppa Mick to his family, passed away peacefully in his home at Pioneer Manor. Mick is survived by his wife Anita (Beaudry), daughters Julia (Jason Ozubko), Melanie (Jeremy Knight), stepson Nick Yawney and stepdaughter Meg Yawney (Chris Cornell). Grandpa to Jonas, and Poppa Mick to Clara. Fondly remembered by the girls' mom, Ruth Reyno. Predeceased by his father Jack and his mother Grace (Ellenwood), Mick is survived by his brother Doug (Lorna May) and their family.

Mick came from a small family but upon marrying into the Beaudry clan he was absorbed into our family and became Uncle Mick to more than 30. His last 10 years were lived at Pioneer Manor and we would like to express our thanks and appreciation to all within those walls. He loved living there, he felt like "King of the Castle" when he roamed those halls at night. Thank you to staff of Trillium wing, you are stellar. Each and every one of you are a shining example of true dedication and caring.

To Sherry, Carol, MJ, Terry, and ANYONE who walked into Mick's room, thank you. To Laura...there are no words. To Dr. Jake Holub, Mick loved his conversations with you (Go Huskers), a heartfelt thank you. A special thank you to Brian Labelle. Your friendship and love for Mick, your kindness and compassion is so appreciated.
