Obituary for Frank Morassutti

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of John Franko “Frank” Morassutti on Thursday, April 8, 2021. He was born in Creighton, Ontario on May 5, 1940. He passed peacefully at Health Sciences North, Sudbury, after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

Beloved husband of Lidia “Lee” (Veccia) Morassutti for over 57 years. Loving father of Tracy Bartolucci (Mark) and Kelly Tushingham (Graham). Cherished Nonno of Jacob and Grace Bartolucci, and Callaway and Frankie Tushingham. Dear son of Giovanni and Gemma (Fabris) Morassutti both predeceased. Dear brother of Mario Morassutti predeceased (Ofelia) and brother-in-law to Lucy Cerri (Tino predeceased), Marcia Boag and Barbara Canning. Will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.

Frank was a man who loved everything. He loved family, friends, work, connections with people, camp, swimming, golfing, curling, fishing, skiing, being outdoors, food and much more.

Frank truly lived life to the fullest. He had a long career as a business owner, a financier, and an insurance broker. He was a loving family man, a musician, proud Italian and dedicated volunteer. After over 40 years of offering his support and leadership to many organizations, he was happy to receive the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers (the highest honour for volunteer service that one can receive within the Canadian Honours System). Some of the organizations included the Caruso Club, VON, Sudbury Memorial Hospital, Idylwydle, and the Fogolar Furlan Club.

Frank treasured time with family and friends. He was extremely patient, always encouraging, resilient, and had a life-long love of learning. Nothing was a chore for Frank. He found the positives in everything, even the most routine tasks. Even in his illness, he was always optimistic. He will be remembered as one of the most positive and warm people you would ever meet.

Frank loved everything.
