In memory of Pietro Baldassarre
December 1st, 1927 - March 30th, 2021
A life well lived - with no regrets - maybe a few aches and pains along the way but he never complained until the end when the suffering was too much to bare. Pietro is reunited with his wife, parents, brothers, in-laws and many, many good friends. It is with great sadness BUT ALSO extreme RELIEF we announce the passing of our father. Pietro passed away early Tuesday morning, March 30th, 2021 with loving family by his side. It certainly was time especially after months and months of not knowing why he was not able to truly enjoy a proper meal - and lets face it, food means the world to an Italian!!! Now he’ll be able to relish in Nonna Lina’s cooking again! Surely they’ll be eating, drinking and maybe dancing but only after they finish having a game or two of cards. Pietro leaves behind his LEGACY being his FAMILY; devoted daughters, Maria/Mary Katulka (Andy) and Luisa Moroz (Ted); adored grandchildren, Wesley Katulka (Melanie), Stephen Katulka (Dana Hutchinson), Samantha Chittle (Jake) and Will Moroz; cherished great-grandchildren, Mackenzie Katulka, Piper Chittle, Logan Chittle, Everleigh Katulka, Wyatt Chittle and baby Katulka to be!!! Pietro also took pride and joy in everything he did and had; a bountiful garden; made extraordinary, strong wine; built a wonderful camp on Trout Lake from “the scratch” where he felt at peace which his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren will enjoy now and forever!!! He is lovingly remembered by family and friends across Canada, Italy, Germany and the United States. Until we meet again Caro Papa - Love you for ALL TIME!!! There will be a private family ceremony held at the Civic Mausoleum on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021. In lieu of flowers donations to the Northern Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
