Obituary for Loretta Simone Thomas (Goudreau)

It is with great sorrow that the family of Loretta Thomas (nee Goudreau) announce her peaceful passing at Finlandia Village on March 28, 2021. Beloved wife and best friend of Charles Thomas (predeceased) for 67 years. Loving mother of Judy Shrive (Peter), Bob Thomas predeceased, Susie Racicot (Richard), and Christine McMullen (Bill). Special grandmother of Stella, Michelle, Mandy, Jenny, Jamie, Nick, Cassandra, and Alyssa (Devyn). Great-grandmother of Ebony, Keegan, Haylee, Kayiesha, Payton, Darwyn, Quinn, Caleb and Dylan. She loved her home and was always happy to see family. She was the best mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a homemaker who made the best cinnamon buns, blueberry pancakes, sweet stuff and her famous fudge. In her younger days she was an avid fisherwoman and cooked the best fish. She was an amazing seamstress, loved to knit and crochet the most beautiful sweaters. She loved crossing the border and playing the slots at Kewadin Casino until her hands were black. She looked forward to her annual road trip down to visit her sisters; where they drank wine played bingo, poker, and danced to Conway Twitty. She always had a smile on her face and loved cheating at cards (still did). Her generous soul will be missed by all who knew her. She is reunited with her husband Charlie and son Bobby. Special thanks to the staff in Kuusi who treated her like family at Finlandia Village, as well as, Mel, Jill and Dr. Presenza for the compassionate care. Private family services will be held at the Jackson & Barnard Funeral Home, 233 Larch Street, Sudbury. If desired, donations to Finlandia Village would be appreciated.
